Liz Nehdi designs offer a spectacular expression of bold, invigorating colours, hypnotic patterns and gestural, painterly prints that are layered with meaning. These are complemented by the finest craftsmanship and luxurious textiles to create playful, distinctive and soulful accessories with an artistic heritage. Our brand aims to introduce a way of life that celebrates fun, creative expression, optimism, and the beautiful complexities of the global village in which we all live. Liz Nehdi Studio was founded in 2014 by Liz & Karim Morgan Nehdi.

The inaugural Spring/Summer 2015 collection of scarves and pocket squares draws from Liz’s inspirations as a painter, interpreting and distilling creative traditions from around the globe – from abstract expressionism, art naïf and aboriginal dot paintings to graffiti, Berber patterns, and psychedelia.

We are accepting wholesale orders for Spring/Summer 2015 through 14 November 2014. Please email liz@liznehdi.com for more information.

Vintage Summer

Vintage Summer Collage by Liz Nehdi. Image credits below

If you know me, you already know that summer is my favourite season by a long shot. Give me a beach, some sun and a breeze and I’m a happy lady.

In honour of the first day of July, here’s a beachy collage with a vintage vibe.

Image credits, along with larger individual images, are below.

I hope you’re headed someplace beachy and warm soon if you’re not there already!

(Not So) Mellow Yellow

Liz Nehdi

The many moods of yellow, a collage by Liz Nehdi, 2014. Image credits below

It’s been a little while since I’ve shared a colour-centric collage and now that it’s feeling straight-up summery in London, a yellow medley seems appropriate.

Yellow is unabashedly optimistic. Its warmth is relaxing and yet its brightness is energising.

What does yellow make you think of? Lying in the grass on a warm summer day with the sun reflecting off of your sunglasses? A crisp glass of lemonade? What else?

Image credits are below, along with larger individual images.

I hope you enjoy this burst of sunshine in your day!

Throwback Thursday: The Making of Orangina II – Part I

Liz Nehdi

Orangina before and after her transformation by Liz Nehdi

This will be a familiar sight to those of you who have known my work for a while, but I want to share this project with those of you who are newer followers of Liz Nehdi Studio.

Yes I love colour and pattern, but the other driving force behind my work is bringing more meaning and joy into the world with my designs. My renovation of a classic 1974 Citroen 2CV (or Deux Chevaux) from a rundown collectable to a work of textile art is the pinnacle of what I’m aiming to do with my work.

In the coming weeks I’ll share behind the scenes shots of how this project came to fruition. Although the end product is shiny and wonderfully colour-and-pattern-ful, there were some dirty, less than glamorous moments throughout the making process.

In case you don’t want to wait for next week, here’s a gallery of photos of the finished product, as well as a link to the lookbook I created about the project. If you want to have your own copy of the book, you can purchase it here.

I am putting Orangina II up for sale to help fund my next project, so if you’re interested in buying her, please email me at liz.nehdi@gmail.com.

And if you’d like a piece of this project at a lower price point, I have created a number of accessories featuring the patterns from Orangina II, including a tote bag featuring the pattern from the 2CV’s exterior, a pillow with the watercolour pattern from interior walls of the car, as well as a shower curtain with the pattern from the car seats.

These patterns are available on a range of other products, including mugs, device cases and rugs, so have a look around my online shop and see if anything strikes your fancy.
