Liz Nehdi's favourite looks from Dries Van Noten's A/W 2014 collection

Belgian designer Dries Van Noten is an expert mixer of patterns and has been one of my inspirations for a while now. His recent A/W 2014 show in Paris was – no surprise – a feast for the eyes in terms of both pattern and colour. He paired sophisticated tropical florals with Op art geometrics and curves and offset magenta, orange and yellow with neutral gray, navy and black. An absolutely stunning show to complement his “Inspirations” exhibition that has just opened at the Musee des Arts Decoratifs in Paris. I can’t wait to see that exhibition!

Liz Nehdi in Orangina II, a 1974 Citroen 2CV turned into art

Hello and welcome to the Liz Nehdi Studio blog! I’m an American artist and textile designer based in London who loves bold patterns and bright colours. My full bio is here but here’s the gist: I studied Studio Art at Dartmouth College in the US, then worked in publishing and online media for several years before moving abroad and returning to my love of design. Since I completed my MA in Textile Design at the Chelsea College of Art and Design in London, I’ve been working on several exciting projects and collaborations, but I’ll save those for later.

I’d love to share my inspirations and creations with you, and that’s exactly what I’ll be doing here. You can expect lots of colour and a focus on patterns – both contemporary and vintage – in the context of fashion, interiors and more. I’m also a lover of travel, food, art and fun, so I’ll be sharing inspiration from these realms as well. Oh, and I’ll also keep you updated on what’s cooking at Liz Nehdi Studio.
