Liz Nehdi designs offer a spectacular expression of bold, invigorating colours, hypnotic patterns and gestural, painterly prints that are layered with meaning. These are complemented by the finest craftsmanship and luxurious textiles to create playful, distinctive and soulful accessories with an artistic heritage. Our brand aims to introduce a way of life that celebrates fun, creative expression, optimism, and the beautiful complexities of the global village in which we all live. Liz Nehdi Studio was founded in 2014 by Liz & Karim Morgan Nehdi.

The inaugural Spring/Summer 2015 collection of scarves and pocket squares draws from Liz’s inspirations as a painter, interpreting and distilling creative traditions from around the globe – from abstract expressionism, art naïf and aboriginal dot paintings to graffiti, Berber patterns, and psychedelia.

ABOUT LIZ NEHDI

Liz Nehdi is an American artist and designer based in London. She was born near Washington DC in 1982 and grew up in Bethesda MD. She studied at Miss Porter's School (USA), Dartmouth College (USA) and the University of the Arts London (UK) - Chelsea College of Art & Design and Central Saint Martins - and holds received a BA in Studio Art with Honors and an MA in Textile Design with Distinction.

Liz travels extensively and has lived in the United States, United Kingdom, France and Singapore.

On the eve of a very special day – tomorrow is not only Mother’s Day in the US, but also my mom’s birthday!

I've created a collage inspired by her. She spent a few years living in Hawaii as a young girl and her love of the beautiful state runs deep. Mom - I love you so much and am so grateful for you! And Happy Mother's Day to all of you moms out there :)

Notting Hill in the spring, Liz Nehdi

I’m spending most of my time designing in the studio these days, but when I’m not there, there’s a good chance you’ll find me wandering around Notting Hill and the surrounding areas. I’m lucky to live in such a beautiful neighbourhood; it’s filled with pastel houses, gorgeous gardens and parks, vintage cars, among other things. There’s so much visual stimulation for my artist eyes.

Here are some of my favourite shots of building façades that I’ve taken over the past few weeks. Individual images from the collage are below.

LA Inspiration, a collage by Liz Nehdi

Natural patterns and textures are a huge source of inspiration for my work. Last month’s trip to southern California afforded me the chance to soak up natural beauty that’s totally different from what I experience on a daily basis in London.

Most of these shots were taken on the amazing grounds of the Getty Center in LA, which also houses an art collection and offers gorgeous views of the city.
